Betta Carrano’s love of shoes began in the early 1970s when she met and fell in love with the talented, famous and very successful Italian shoe designer, Andrea Carrano.  Betta, born and raised in Rome, and from a family with roots in the burgeoning film industry, her father was a well-known cinematographer and part of “La Dolce Vita” in Rome in the 1950s, really did not know much about fashion … but had a flair for color and design that made her stand out.
Falling in love with Andrea, marrying and creating a family together was the beginning of what would become a creative union that became the Andrea Carrano brand.  A brand that would span many continents in the 1980s:  classic designs that were elegant, colorful and fun!  They combined the design talent of Andrea with the youthful flair of Betta.  Together they created a very successful line of shoes that sold around the world though in over thirty boutiques under the Andrea Carrano label.

In 1997 after Andrea passed away, Betta kept the brand alive though the boutique in New York City that bears his name.
The shoes are, as always, produced in her factory in Naples where she spends time creating and designing the Andrea Carrano collection; where this season she has decided to develop her own collection under her own name:  Betta Carrano.  Included in the line are the classics of Andrea that were designed together and many new, youthful, colorful and fun styles and designs.
Exceptional Customer Service has always been a hallmark of the Carrano brand and so it continues through her new venture today.
